Privacy Policy Promise

You will find no other Internet vendor that does more to protect and respect the privacy of its customers, trial users, and website visitors than GatherBird.

This Privacy Policy was written by Ben Fields (President of GatherBird) and not by an attorney. It is a personal promise. If you feel there is anything contained in this Privacy Policy that can be construed as misleading or does no live up to our Privacy Policy Promise I will fix it. Website Promise

No cookies are installed or used by the website. You won't see the “eye” on our website.

No Personal Identifying Information is collected by our website and never will be.

General website statistics are tracked. For example “How many times has the GatherBird Copy Large Files information screen been viewed.” And, “How many website visits are due to a link from www.download.com.”

The website contains links to 3rd party websites that are considered safe. For example www.download.com, www.softpedia.com, and www.paypal.com.

Website Database Promise

Customers that have purchased software have the encrypted form of their login and password stored in the website's database. The encryption technology used is Microsoft's System.Security.Cryptography SHA1CryptoServiceProvider. No other customer information is stored in the database.

The purpose of storing the login and password in our database is to allow customers to retrieve extra registration keys. If a customer loses their login or password then new ones must be issued because no method exists that allows stored information to be reversed. This is my login and password that is stored in the GatherBird database: C85F898355E9491E40E234852B49231755A39D9C.

Software Installation Promise

Our software installations contain only the advertised product. We do not and never will install any 3rd party applications such as Internet Explorer tool bars.

Our software installations make no clandestine changes to the Windows registry or directories on your computer, and never will. Every change made by the installation can be viewed inside the Install_Log.txt file located in the installation directory chosen by the user. Our software un-install completely removes the application from your computer and does not leave behind hidden registry entries or files.

Software Behavior Promise

Our software contains no adware, spyware, malware, or anything else that could be considered similar to these, and never will.

Our software does not and never will connect to the Internet without first asking permission. Note that some of our software products are intrinsically designed to use the Internet or a network connection. For example “GatherBird Automatic Print Screen with Email” will send email when specifically configured to do so.

If our software encounters a ‘fatal’ error it may show an error screen that gives a user the option of sending the error information to our website. That information is fully disclosed on the error screen.

The information is sent through Internet Explorer by a link to www.gatherbird.com/gberrorreport and the information sent can be fully viewed from the URL in Internet Explorer.

Mailing Lists and Email

We send an automated confirmation email after a software purchase is made. This will be the only email you ever receive from GatherBird unless you first contact support@gatherbird.com or president@gatherbird.com.

GatherBird maintains no mailing lists and never will.

We never have and never will loan, rent, sell, or give away any information collected through GatherBird.

Our employees do NOT have the right to access your Personal Information except to check PayPal records which is required to verify a purchase before issuing a new login and password .
